BS EN 15293:2018 pdf download.Automotive fuels – Automotive ethanol (E85) fuel – Requirements and test methods
1 Scope
This document specifies requirements and test methods for marketed and delivered automotive ethanol (E85) fuel. It is applicable to automotive ethanol (E85) fuel for use in spark ignition engine vehicles designed to run on automotive ethanol (E85) fuel.
Automotive ethanol (E85) fuel is a mixture of nominally 85 % (V/V) ethanol and unleaded petrol, but also including the possibility of having different “seasonal grades” containing more than 50 % (V/V) ethanol.
NOTE 1 For the purposes of this document, the terms“% (m/m)”and“% (V/V)” are used to represent respectively the mass fraction and the volume fraction.
NOTE2 For this European Standard, A-deviations apply (see Annex C].

6.7.1 Overall requirements
When tested by the methods indicated in Table 1, automotive ethanol (E85) fuel shall be in accordance with the limits specified in Table 1. The test methods listed in Table 1 have been found applicable to automotive ethanol (E85) fuel, either by full assessment or by theoretical evaluation [5]. In the first case, these findings have been validated by CEN [11]. Additional procedural requirements to be followed are indicated in Annex A. For further information on preventing contamination in the supply chain or for cross-contamination it is advisable to check CEN/TR 15367-2 and CEN/TR 15367-3 respectively [6, 7]. A determination method for high boiling components in unleaded petrol is available [10]. NOTE Details behind the considerations that have led to these requirements and test methods have been published by CEN [5].
